Electro Calorique Erg’ Elec Retherm Tray Trolley

Precision-engineered meal retherm and distribution technology that ensures every tray is delivered at perfect serving temperature – every time

Description

EC-Erg Elec

The Erg Elec Monobloc is a high‑performance plated meal distribution trolley for cook‑chill, cook‑serve and cook‑freeze operations. It uses thermocontact heating plates on every level, providing gentle and even reheating up to 120°C while preserving flavours, textures and nutrients, with no heat emissions into the room thanks to contact‑only heat transfer. Each tray sits on an individually regulated plate, so hot components regenerate smoothly without drying or crusting, even for sauces and delicate dishes.

A dual‑cavity structure with an internal thermal barrier separates hot and cold zones, ensuring reliable temperature segregation and food safety throughout transport and service. The robust stainless steel construction, large easy‑read control panel and integrated electronic controller provide precise cycle management, alarms and full HACCP‑ready temperature logging, with optional remote traceability. Non‑scratch worktop surfaces, four‑sided rails and large castors optimise handling in kitchens, lifts and wards.

The Erg Elec Monobloc is compatible with standard tray formats and mixed crockery (porcelain, plastic, cellulose) in the same cycle. A shared accessories platform allows configuration with towing or motorisation, strapping kits for truck transport, front braking systems, corner and screen protections, clearing and waste kits, as well as decorative side panels and identification options.

Built in 18/10 stainless steel, the Erg Elec Monobloc features dual insulated cavities separated by a fixed thermal barrier, ensuring strict segregation and stable temperatures for hot and cold zones. A large, intuitive control panel with integrated RM750 electronic board gives precise cycle management, full HACCP-compatible temperature logging and event history, with optional remote traceability software. The non‑scratch stainless steel top, four‑sided stainless steel rails and non‑marking 200 mm castors provide robust handling in kitchens, lifts and wards.

The Erg Elec Monobloc is compatible with GN 1/1 asymmetrical trays and other Electro Calorique trays, accommodating porcelain, plastic or cellulose containers in the same cycle. A wide range of shared accessories is available, including strapping kits, towing systems, front braking, door locking, screen protection, clearing trolleys and waste‑sorting solutions. Custom decorative panels and identification options (including RFID labels) allow easy fleet management and seamless integration with your facility’s design language.

Other Cooling Technology Options:

Cold chain performance is just as critical as hot holding, particularly in cook‑chill and cook‑freeze environments. To support different infrastructure and service strategies, modern meal distribution trolleys can be configured with several cooling technologies:

Compressor refrigeration: Integrated refrigerated circuits for active chilling and holding.

Glycol / eutectic modules: Charged plates or circuits that provide passive cooling during distribution, reducing on‑board mechanical complexity.

CO₂ cassettes: Liquefied CO₂ is injected into a dedicated cassette, delivering rapid pull‑down and stable holding via sublimation, with no moving parts on the trolley itself.

This range of options allows sites to balance capital cost, maintenance profile, energy use and docking infrastructure to suit their operational model.

Designed for cook‑fresh, cook‑chill and cook‑freeze

Whether meals are served immediately after production or held for later service, the distribution system has to align with the overall process. In practice this means:

Cook‑fresh / cook‑serve: Meals are prepared and portioned close to service time, with trolleys used mainly for short‑term hot holding and transport.

Cook‑chill: Meals are cooked, rapidly chilled, held under controlled refrigeration, then regenerated in trolleys near the point of service to meet time‑temperature limits.

Cook‑freeze: Extended holding times are possible, with controlled thawing and regeneration cycles built into the distribution plan.

Well‑matched trolleys are engineered to interface with blast chillers, cold rooms and service pantries, forming a consistent temperature‑controlled chain from production to plate.
